Welcome the Long Pointy Elven Style Bracers.
Bracers have an interesting past. I image the first leather bracers were used as arm guards by archers to keep the arm skin from getting welted by the fast flying string. Iron gauntlets helped provide armor to arms in closer combat. From there it took a different turn. During the Renaissance bracers became a large part of fashion, being used to hold sleeves in place or just for extra decor and flash. From there they were sprinkled through history popping up in fashions here and there along the way. Today while bracers aren't as popular in general wear we still use them in our costumery, and occasionally in fashion statements with cuffs. It is interesting how clothing adapts and moves. In the case of the bracer, from soldier to feminine touch.
