Welcome to official Draw a Corset : Win a Corset (or vest) Contest!



About the contest:
Sean and I have decided to host a contest where you, the artists, will take one of our photographs (listed below) and create your own drawing, painting, or vector inspired by our vests, corsets, and dresses.  The cool thing about this contest is that nobody loses -- just for entering this contest, you will get featured for your efforts and given a special discount in my shop (more explained below)!  If you win, you will receive a custom corset and bracers or vest and tie/bow-tie made to fit your body and designed by me.  If you need examples of what I make, check below! All but a few pieces of clothing below were designed by me.


Prizes:

First Place:
-Corset and bracers set or vest and tie/bow-tie set custom designed to fit your body.  Your choice of cloth from my vast collections for the creation of the piece.  This is about $400 worth of custom work.  Shipping is free for contestants in the US, and will depend on location for international entrants.
-Special Art Feature in Journals of:

-A custom colored and sized pair of cloth bracers or a custom color and sized tie made for you by me.  You will get to pick from my cloth collection. This is about $30 worth of custom work.  Shipping is free for contestants in the US, and will depend on location for international entrants.

All Contestants:
-Whether you win or not, all contestants will be featured in and journals (winners will get special features). In Temperate-sage's journal contestants will not be featured with more than 9 other contestants to make sure that features give them prop recognition.
-All contestants will receive a 20% stack-able discount (see below) to "Sage of the Trades" clothing and Accessories www.etsy.com/shop/SageOfTheTra… or "Echosage" Chainmaille Jewelry www.etsy.com/shop/EchoSage just for entering the contest.
-Anyone who features the winning entries in their journal will get an additional 5% stack-able discount coupon for my Etsy shops.

People who Pass the word along:
-If you post a link to the contest in your journal, a poll, or a group with a brief 1-2 sentence description of the contest and send me a link showing where you posted it, I will give a 10% stack-able coupon for my Etsy shops.
-Anyone who passes the word along in this fashion will also be entered into a drawing for a pair of bracers of their choice from my shop and 2 other drawings to win 100 points.


*Stack-able coupons are coupons that can be added together to be used on one purchase.  If you enter the contest (20% off coupon) and post a link to the contest in your journal (10% off coupon), you will have a total of a 30% off coupon (valid for one item from my shops).

Deadline : Submissions may be entered from April 27th to June 27th, the winners will be presented on July 3rd.

Rules:
(Please watch this account to be kept up to date with news and rule changes.)
-Only drawings, paintings, and vector art are eligible.  No photo-manipulation is allowed.  Digital drawings and painting are fine, and is light painting photography.
-All pieces must be created during the duration of the contest.
-Your image must be based off one (or more) of the pictures below.
-Get creative! We aren't looking for a straight copy of the photo.  Feel welcome to give it your own touch... just make sure that it is recognizable that you used at least one of the photographs for inspiration. And of course, make sure that a corset, dress or vest is at least slightly visible.
-When you have finished your piece please do the following:
-Upload your piece to deviantart.  Please submit it as a deviation, not a scrap.
-Put a link to the contest in your deviation's description, and note that the piece is a submission to the "Custom Corset and Vest Contest."
-Send me a note titled "Contest Submission" with a link to your contest entry.
-You may submit multiple pieces to the contest, though each entrant can only win once.


These rules may get modified if there are any concerns or questions.  I highly recommend you favorite this journal so you can refer to it as you create your piece.  If there are any concerns on my part about your submission I will let you know right away!
